We made reservations before coming here on a week day, but did not need to as the place was completely empty. We were seated quickly, but right beside the only other table with patrons in the entire restaurant. Unfortunately this meant having to squeeze in behind this table and that I couldnt get served properly, as I couldnt be reached from anywhere but the front of the table.
While only one person in our party ordered a starter of soup, myself and the other person were given a small treat from the chef of a beef with cheese which was quite tasty.
I ordered the summer beef, which although was very tasty, wasn't cooked to the medium that I asked for. Desserts were also quite good.
As for service, it was ok, but nothing spectacular.

The restaurant has a very austere atmosphere. The tables for the most part are far apart except on a night with only a few tables occupied we were seated so close to the table behind us the waitress could not serve one of our party without passing the food over.
I had the veal striploin which was very tender. The vegetables accompanying it were okay. I had carrot cake for dessert which was okay. One of our part had the red pepper soup which was delicious
