Excellent restaurant in GTA... By far the best restaurant that gives you Indian and fusion food. I like their Chinese food as well.

This is a really good classy place, with an amazing bar, eye catching massive gold back splash of Indian culture on the wall. The food was delicious, especially the Fish Tikka Masala. Butter chicken, kebabs and vegetable manchurian was really good too. The garlic butter naans are very fresh and tasty. This is the place to bring your loved ones, its really special! The bill for 5 people came to around $ 100. Please guys TIP your wait staff well (at least 15% at such a place!)

Slow service for sub-par indian cuisine. There are much better choices for authentic indian food in Mississauga.

i went for a birthday dinner there for the first time to experience amazing Indian, Asian cuisine. the staff were amazing and the atmosphere was relaxing yet formal. this restaurant goes beyond the normal Indian food and has expanded it, yet keeping the traditional taste. they have taken the normal ice cream dessert and have made it into a dish called the coconut fried ice cream. never thought it was possible to fry ice cream but this restaurant had taken ice cream to a new level of taste.

One could go on searching for good indian food.We were spending the weekend in toronto as we had just drove down from Boston for my niece's wedding. As to our surprise we loved Avani's service, management and overall staff. We were given a suggestive menu( most restaurants fail at this)and we loved that idea.Despite the wait..they promised good food.We were thrilled by their non typical indian desserts.i recommend Avani to any first timer or indian food goer's.KEEP IT UP AVANI!!!

The food here is excellent, a pleasant and extremely courteous team of staff and management including an extremely accomodating host by the name of Luca. He managed to get us a table on a friday night with no reservation in under five minutes. The tandoor item selection is exceptional.

Overall its not bad food is good but pricey and they actully want 15% Tip if you go with 5 person anyways i went with my wife and son my bill was for 78 Dollars. I gave her $100 and she is asking me that if i want my change back i didnt like the way she asked so i had to tell her i dont want my change. She took 22 dollars in tip. I have been to each and every high end resturants but none of them ask for tip. They should bring the change back and it depends on the customer if they want to give them any tip. Other thing when u go just to bring water they take like 15 min. I will be honest food taste good but the price what they have for it the quantity is very less a biryani cost 15 dollars and its good for only 2 people.

Wonderful food - loved their idea of a buffet, more like a price fixed meal with choices. Lamb korma was excellent and the naan the best I have eaten. Owner Jaya Baskeran was personable, helpful - the perfect host and my server was excellent. I will reccomend tomy family and friends!

I went to Avani for the first time with my family. We were seated at a table close to the bar and kitchen. The food was great the waitstaff was courteous but the management conducted themselves poorly. I assume they were management because they were wearing ties. I heard them making comments using very profane language. I was disappointed because the meal was good until then. I wouldn't return again.

Service was a little poor, in terms of not remembering certain items, but still very good even with having a party of 14 with varied menu choices. The wait staff was pleasant and friendly and did a great job with the small birthday surprise we asked for. It was a great change from the regular Markham restaurants we go to, and we'll definetly come again even though its a half hour drive for us. The value of the meal was good considering the amount we ordered. Certain items we're a little bland in taste, but that can be corrected by asking for a little more spice when next time ordering. Lots of different, new, and varied items on the menu to choose from along with old Indian favourites. Overall great menu, great atmosphere, and pleasant wait staff.

5 OF US WENT FROM THE OFFICE, AND WE HAD THE EXECUTIVE BUFFET FOR $12.49 + TAX. FOOD WAS VERY GOOD. I ENJOYED IT. SAMOSA CAME AS A SPRING ROLL SHAPE, NICE PRESENTATION BUT THE TASTE SHOULD'VE BEEN A BIT BETTER. CHUTNEY WAS GOOD. TANDOORI WAS EXCELLENT, ANLONG WITH THE LAMB. BASMATI RICE WAS NICE, BUT SHOULD HAVE SOME MORE FLAVOUR. THERE SHOULD BE A FEW MORE VEG. ITEMS ON THE MENU OR SOME SORT OF SALAD. OVER-ALL THE RATING IS "9" BECAUSE THERE ARE AREAS WHERE THEY SHOULD IMPROVE. SERVICE WAS VERY NICE.

An Absolute Easter Weekend. We started of with cocktail service of Appz. It was nice once for a change that appz were brought to the table.(most indian restaurant have it laid out) The Tandoori Chicken was tender and warm.We then had our main entrees brought out to us in stunning presentation. I cant tell how much i loved the food, ambience and most of all the service. When one goes there, ASK FOR JEY. Thank You Jey.

I visited AVANI with my family on March 11, 2008. We went for the lunch buffet. We arrived at around 12:15pm. We had 6 in our party. First of all, the service was AMAZING! We were served everything on the buffet menu. I’ll tell you what we had and I’ll place a asterisk telling you how I liked it. 5 asterisks means it was top notch. Samosa Roll ** - It arrived warm (not hot) and lacked flavour - thank goodness for the chutney Tandoori Chicken ** - Again it didn't arive hot, just warm and it could have had more garlic & ginger in the maranade. Veg Pakora *** - These were flavourful and not too dry like most places. House Salad *** This was just fine - there was some dressing on the side, but I didn't try it. Sweet Corn Soup *1/2 I don't know, I think I was expecting the Thai-style Corn Soup and as such was disappointed with this one, but it was fine, it was mainly broth. Rajmah Curry ****1/2 This was really tasty - I liked this dish. Chana Masala *** This was tasty too, but hmm, I think it gave me some gas...LOL! Palak Paneer ***** This was the BEST I've ever had anywhere, normally I wouldn't have ordered it because of my previous experiences, but let me tell you since it was on the table I tried it. The chunks of paneer tasted like butter and the spinach was smooth and creamy and spicy! Jeera Aloo – Gets a 1/2 – there was no flavour but the presentation was nice Lamb Curry – I can’t rate this since I don’t like the flavour of lamb so I can't judge this fairly. But I can tell you that meat was very tender. Butter Chicken - ** I found this quite bland. I like how it was boneless pieces of chicken meat. But I'm guessing that since their tandoori marinade is quite bland, and since ususally butter chicken is made from left over tandoori chicken or chicken tika it attributed for its blah flavour. Naan (Plain & Garlic) ****1/2 This was nice and warm, it was light and flakey and tender, not hard or doughy and it was delighutfuly buttery - YUM! Basmati Rice **** - Basic plain rice. Raita – I didn’t try it, so I can’t rate it Mango / Vanilla Ice Cream **** Ras Malai ***** - I think it was the best ras malai I ever had. I could taste the cardamom (elaichi) throughout the desert. We had also ordered Masla Chai (it was just okay, I’d give it *** I used the rass from the rass malai to put into my chai to give it a creamier texture and more elaichi flavour which I feel it was lacking. The Mango Lassi, was awesome, I’d give it *****. The atmosphere is beautiful and it’s nice to have proper table linen’s. And once again, our server (from Malaysia) was just wonderful. If I go again, I really want to try their Hakkah selection. Chilli Chicken here I come!

We visited this place after having an awful experience with service in Karma... I was glad to see that the new managment had a good head on its shoulders. They serviced with a smile and the taste was divine... The menu selection and the ambience was geared towards a new breed of Indo-Canadians that are eager to try a blend of east and west. The bar had was adequately stocked with a varied selection of brews from around the world, not the typical kind of a standard Indian bar. A very modern and a hip place for the new breed. Let the good times roll...

It is a newly opened restaurant in Mississauga and is doing very well for itself. We had Amazing Service given that it was a full house on that day.The food was spectacular from the taste to presentation. The waterfall was amazing.Very Modern yet had a Classical Touch.Great Wines and Martinis. Definitely my Favourite Restaurant.

What a horrible experience; I decided to come to Avani for Valentines' Day and have never been so disappointed in a dining experience. Upon arrival we were given a 'reserved' table that was terribly situated. Eventually we were moved to a nicer table after asking twice as the tables in the back weren't even being taken. After ordering drinks and appetizers we waited literally 2.5 hours with only our drinks and as we looked around it became clear other people were agitated as well. On occasion an apathetic waiter would come by our table asking how long we have been waiting and how he would go 'do something' about it; and of course nothing was done. We ended up asking what is going on and were told the kitchen is confused; very odd. Anyway, this place left an awful taste in my mouth. If anyone is going I would suggest to go on an ordinary day.
