Comments: This has been the worst experience and I am compelled to let every potential customer hear this story! I dined out at Villa restaurant as I stumbled upon it walking on Bloor Street. I went with my mother and sister and we all decided to order an antipasto plate along with bruschetta. After receiving the meal we all decided to dig in. After each sampling the antipasto plate we all agreed that the only thing appetizing on this plate was the pieces of bread the came on the side. The prosuitto tasted as though it must have been atleast three weeks old. The cantalope, although pretty to look at, tasted as though chemical cleaners had been added to it, After each sampling a piece of the appetizer we all agreed we could not stomach anymore. We should have trusted our instincts when we walked in and noticed the restaurant was completely empty. Clearly they were trying to stretch food beyond its expiry date. We ate the rest of our bruschetta and waited to pay the bill. Once the waitress came along my mother had indicated that the antipasto plate was not fresh and at that point the waitress told us that she would adjust the bill accordingly. When we received the bill to our surprise (after being told otherwise) the antipasto plate was on our bill. We asked the waitress as to why this charge was there and she stated that she asked the owner and the owner said the plate was fresh to her knowledge and to leave the charge on the bill. At this point we were shocked seeing as we were led to believe one thing and the opposite happened. Not only did they not take the charge off the bill but the owner did not even feel it necessary to come and talk to unsatisfied customers. At that point we asked to speak to this owner. She appeared with the most unpleasant look on her face. We explained the entire situation and she refused to offer us any help. She insisted that the plate was fresh and refused to take it off the bill. I have never met a more petty & rude owner. The plate was a total of $13, and in the name of rectifying a situation this small gesture could not even be honoured, despite the fact that our waitress had told us otherwise. Unless you are up for food that has gone way past its "best before" date, then I suggest to think twice before dining at "Villa Restaurant"!!!!

Comments: Great place that gets a lot of business during weekend brunch hours. We showed up as a pretty big group with no reservation and found it was very busy. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us anyway, and service was great throughout the meal despite the fact that the waitresses were probably run off their feet.

Food was made with good quality ingredients, lovely presentation and generous portions without feeling heavy. Several families came in but somehow the place still seemed upscale. Beautiful room, great ambiance.

Comments: We enjoyed ourselves very much and we appreciated the professionalism given to us as we were celebrating our Company Christmas Party. The owners went out of their way to ensure our group were having a great time. We will most defintely return.

Comments: I went with a couple friends for a Saturday lunch. The place looks very chique from the outside but I was surprised to see that there were so many families dining there.
For such a wide open space, I was happy that the noise levels were not loud. The windows make the room look much bigger than I'm sure it is. There's also a nice little patio out the back where they probably serve during the summer.
The menu is quite extensive, but I chose to get my lunch from their brunch menu. They served fresh bread before the meal arrived, which was quite tasty. I had the club sandwich and that was good. The side salad was made with their house dressing and even though I'm not a huge vinaigrette fan I thought it was very good!
The service was average. She was there when we needed her but she didn't exceed any expectations.

Comments: We had a reservation for 8 pm. Table was not ready, were directed to the bar where we had to wait to get served. We were seated at a table 30 minutes later (were told people did not show up). Our server was not friendly and was rude. The crostini was good as well as the salad but the rest of our food was mediocre. The naked ravioli was not eatable, the sirloin tip in my pizza wrap was very chewy so much so that I could not eat it, my spouse's osso bucco was tasteless and what accompanied it watery. My daughter waited more than 15 minutes for a glass of wine. We spoke to the manager who at the end offered us a 15% discount but no apologies, nothing. We did not touch most of our meals, did not eat our dessert. The service was very poor. We would not recommend it to anyone.
Sincerely,
Diane Earle, North Bay, Ontario

Comments: The menu is predominantly pizza and pasta, but very gourmet. They don't skimp out on the ingredients so it's deliciious, but it doesn't feel heavy or greasy. And they have a gluten-free version of everything. The dinning room is quite large with an open kitchen. Nice ambiance and probably wouldn't feel too crowded during rush hours
