Comments: Bibiche has been around now for about 20 years. I guess it was a bit of a pioneer in the otherwise wasteland of the east Danforth when it opened all those years ago. There's no question the room could use and update, but the great food and hospitable service, more than make up for this minor flaw. My wife and I have been going there for about 15 years now, and are constantly amazed that they keep producing such a fine product after all thes years. Who knows how much longer they'll be around? On a personal note I'm hoping for a long time to come!

What we think:

We have being going to Bibiche for almost 15 years now. We lived in the neighbourhood for 10 of those, but even though we've moved to the north of the city, we make an effort to visit our favourite spot at least once a month.

The thing we love about this place is that welcoming feeling we get on every visit. We're always taken care of and feel like it's a visit to an old friend.

Our last dinner was a little post holiday celebration with some friends. One couple has been to Bibiche before and the other 2 were newcomers. As usual, everyone had a terrific time.

The food is always terrific. Being a group, we sampled a bit of everything from the menu. Our choices were from the daily specials, as we have been through the regular menu numerous times over the years. What amazed everyone is how such generous portions and excellent quality are served at such reasonable prices!

The only negative is the lack of support Bibiche isn't getting from people who live in the area. Even when we lived there, many of our neighbours were not aware it existed. After singing it's praises many wondered why it had taken them so long to visit. On some visits the restaurant has been very quiet. On other occassions it's been busy and Harry (our server) finds it humorous that the majority of the clientele are what he refers to as '905ish.' With the lack of decent places in that stretch of the Danforth it's such a shame.

Do give Bibiche a vist and we're sure you'll enjoy it as much as we have over these many years!

Comments: Cute little spot that was suggested to us by some friends. Generously portioned and well prepared food. Quite inventive execution. Can't understand why this spot isn't packed!?

Comments: We popped into one of our favourite neighbourhood restaurants this past Saturday evening and had our usual great time.
The restaurant was quite busy and thought they'd be a problem because they had a large group of 12 people booked, and the room is quite small. However, as we had arrived early, it wasn't a problem.
We were warmly greeted and seated very promptly. Our party of 3 shared some terrific Mussels and a wonderful mixed Crostini appetizer. We opted for the specials of Chicken and Lamb Sausage Couscous, a Cajun-Spiced Swordfish and a Pasta of lemon, basil and walnuts. All of which were terrific! We were quite full but decided to share a decadent Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Pie, which was most definitely death by chocolate. And the portions were very generous. With a couple of bottles of Merlot and three coffees, the bill came to $165.00 plus tip. In our estimation, one of the best values to be found in a long time.
Our server (Harry) is the perfect host and not only professional, but a lot of fun.
Needless to say, it's a great little spot that is deserving of it's great reputation. Do check it out!
