Comments: Wonderful to go to a place that remembers you every time you're there. They know what wine we like and what food to recommend. Friendly staff. Like the fact that we were the only ones there.

Comments: This is an Italian restaurant in the heart of what used to be the Italian area of the city. The restaurant is famous for the
lava rock masonry on it's exterior and the truly Italian luxurious mafioso feel of it's interior. The portions were always notoriously large and for me personally they set the standard from an early age (taste wise) for all the Italian food I would ever try throughout my life. Unfortunantely, the Italian community here in Hamilton has changed somewhat in the past thirty years and the place has become somewhat of a relic.
My most recent visit however brought all of the old feelings back. The food still hit all the right spots, but my companion for the evening was unnerved by the fact that we were the only ones in the restaurant. Maybe she figured we might get whacked!
Go with someone who loves Hamilton, not someone who gets all dressed up just to be seen!
